How to Install, Uninstall, Disable, Rollback, Update Device Manager in Windows 10/8/7

The Device manager is playing a lead role on your Window PC. So no doubt we need to update it from time to time to get the best performance. It will let you view the hardware that is installed on your computer system with the properties. It will help you to change hardware settings, identify device drivers for each of the devices. Device manager is able to view and change settings and properties section. It will help you to install, uninstall, update, roll back, enable, disable the drivers.

HOW TO USE THE DEVICE MANAGER IN WINDOWS?

  • For the Windows 10/8, press the Win+W and then type the Device Manager, to search for it in Settings.
  • Then click on the Device Manager to open it.
  • In Windows 7 type the Device Manager in start search and then click on the Enter button to open it.
  • Next, place the driver and then right click on that.
  • Then you will get three different options, mentioned below.

1- Update Drivers-
  • To check for the updates and want to update the driver, you need to click on the update Driver Software option.
  • The wizard will show and offer you two different option:-
  • To search online automatically.
  • To browser to the driver software on your computer system.
  • You need to select and click one of the options that you want to proceed further.
2- Uninstall Driver- To uninstall the driver, you need to click on the Uninstall option.
Instead, you can use the Display Driver Uninstaller also will help you to completely uninstall some of the drivers such as- AMD, INTEL, NVIDIA Drivers.

STEPS TO ROLLBACK, DISABLE, ENABLE DRIVERS:-

  • Right click on the context menu to open the Driver’s properties.
  • Open the Properties box by clicking on the properties option.
  • Then select the Driver tab.
  • Here, you will find the two more different options that are:-
1- Update drivers: It will run the hardware update wizard.
2- Roll Back Driver: It will uninstall the recently updated all of the driver and.
Besides this, it will also roll back your configuration, to the updated version. It is also possible that you may need to roll back a driver if you see that your device fails after upgrading the driver.
3- Disable (or Enable) Driver: This option will disable the Driver until you enable it back again.
4- Uninstall Driver: This option will uninstall all of the driver’s files and registry settings for the selected hardware completely.
