How to Prevent Image Distortion in Portrait PowerPoint Slides?
Pictures play an essential role in presentation slides
because they impart visual appeal to the slides. In addition to that, for the
images to create a more significant impact, you can also add margins and
animations to them. If you are creating a slideshow and trying to figure out a
method to switch the slide layout's page orientation without it leading to
image distortion, then read on to find out more.
Changing Layout before Adding the
Image
By resetting the image back to its original properties, the
image will not get distorted on portrait layout.
When the layout is altered to portrait before adding the
image, the image would merely get implanted according to the breadth of the
slide, that is if the picture is not too small. However, the backdrop of the
slide will appear above and below the image.
If you are following this method, then it might be useful to
set the backdrop of the slides to either jet black or white. By doing so,
nothing except the image will get displayed on the screen when the presentation
is on. If the slide has a heading, then it will display along with the image.
When the Presentation Orientation has
already been set
If the slideshow has been made in the landscape mode, then
sadly, all the images would need to be added again. However, there is another
way to combat this. Find the steps below:
- Click right on the distorted image in the slide.
- From the list, select Size and Position.
- Now, a Format Picture prompt will launch.
- In the Scale section, untick the square next to Relative to original picture size.
- After that, click on Reset.
- When prompted, click on Close.
- Now, the image will be set to its original dimensions.
- You may also crop or resize the image for it to fit the slide.
