How to Share Documents in Google Docs With Other Google Users?

Google Docs is a word processing tool which is available for online use. It is free of cost and ideal for people who want to do basic text processing. One of its most significant advantages is that Google Docs is integrated with Google Drive. Google Docs allows you to collaborate with others in real time. If you want to share Google docs with other Google users, then read on. 

Steps for sharing a Google Docs or Drive document with other Google users 

1. Google Docs enables the users to share any document. Users have to head to either www.docs.google.com or www.drive.google.com. The documents are synced so even if you created them in Google Docs. They will be available in Google Drive. 

2. In Google Drive, you will find all the data, but in Google Docs, you will find only documents. 

3. Go to any of the links mentioned above and sign in to your Google account. 

4. Open the document you wish to share. On the top right-hand side, you will see a blue Share button. Click on it. 

5. In Google Drive, open the document. Right-click on the document. Choose Share from the list of alternatives. 

6. In the Share with others screen, you need to enter the name/s or email addresses of individuals you need to share the document with. 

7. Just key in the name, if it is saved in your Google Contact list, then it will be suggested in the drop-down. 

8. If the person you wish to share the document with does not have a Google Docs account, then they will be asked to create one. 

9. You may also insert a message while sharing the document. 

10. Next to the person’s name, click on Can Edit button, and select from the three options: Can edit, Can comment, and Can view. 

11. To get more options, just click on the Advanced button in the bottom right edge of the Sharing screen. 

12. Click on the Send button at the bottom left corner of the sharing screen.
