How to Snap Out of Snapchat
Do you wish to take a permanent break from the world of “snapping?”Snapchat is one of the most popular social networking apps, especially amongst the teens. One of its unique features is that messages, videos, and images show up for a brief while and then disappear forever. Now, there may be many reasons why you might wish to delete your account from Snapchat. Just like you can delete conversations in Snapchat, you can permanently delete your account too.
If you are sick and tired of Snapchat, especially after its update, then you might just want to get rid of your Snapchat account. If you do not know how to do it, then here are the steps for deleting your Snapchat account permanently.
1. Power on your computer or phone or tablet (any web-enabled device shall do).
2. Launch any internet browser of your choice.
3. Look up the Snapchat Support website.
4. Go to the Delete Account webpage from the Snapchat Support website.
5. Below the Manage My Account heading, click on the yellow Delete My Account option. It will be at the bottom of the list.
6. Now, you will be directed to key on the sign in details for your Snapchat account. Just type in the username and password of the Snapchat account you wish to delete.
7. Click on yellow Continue button.
8. Now, you will be able to see “Account Deactivated” on the webpage.
9. Your Snapchat account will now get deactivated for a period of thirty days. If you do not activate it in the meantime, then it will get deleted upon completion of thirty days.
Now, all you have to do is sit back and resist the urge to re-activate your Snapchat account for thirty days. You will not get any Snapchat notifications when your account is deactivated. Nobody will able to snap you, or send images, etc. After thirty days, if you have been good and didn’t sneak into your Snapchat account in a moment of weakness, your account will be permanently deleted.
If you are wondering why you have to wait for a month to delete your Snapchat account, then well here’s the answer. A majority of Snapchat users are teenagers and young adults. And well, they can be fickle-minded. Sometimes (often) acting on an impulse, they may want to delete their account. Therefore, Snapchat offers a window of 30 days wherein one can reverse their decision. It is also a fantastic test of patience. Slow and steady wins the race.
