How to Change the General Preferences on Safari
In case the users wish to change the Safari browser preferences on their iPhone, then they can do so by using iPhone settings application but not the Safari browser application. The user can adjust Mac settings by going to the Safari browser Preferences page. MacOS users will get more preferences options as compared to iPhone users.
On iPhone
• Press the “Settings” application on the iPhone device.
• Go down and press the “Safari” browser.
• Click the “Search Engine” option to adjust the “Default Search Engine.” The user can choose from different search engines. It is the search engines which Safari browser contain once the users enter any topic into the search section.
• By using the “AutoFill” feature to change the “AutoFill Settings.”
Toggle the “Favorite Files” with the “Favorites” button. With the help of this button, the user can select their favorite files which they wish to use. The users can have many files and change between them as they want.
• Select the way of opening the URL. The user can select the URLs which are shown on the new page. Once the users select the “In Background” option, URLs are displayed on the new page but cannot be toggled instantly.
• Enable the “Pop-up Blocker” to stop the pop-ups appearing on the screen.
• Turn on the “Do Not Track” button so that the other website cannot track the browsing.
• Click the “Clear History and Website Data” option to remove the topic the user browsed.
On macOS
• Go to the “Safari” browser. The users can adjust their Safari browser settings by going to the “Safari Browser.” This browser is located on the left-hand side of the display.
• Press the “Safari” page and choose the “General Preferences” option. It will m show a new page having an option of “Safari Preferences” which is appearing from the “General” page.
• Change a “Homepage.”
• Click the “Tabs” column to adjust the tab settings. The users can select the way of opening the URL and turn on the “Shortcuts” to open a new page.
• Tap the “AutoFill” button to enter the AutoFill detail. The user can select which details of cards they want to show on their default browser. Press the “edit” option on the right-hand column to select which content they wish to use.
• Press the “Passwords” button to see the saved passwords. The users get the password of the entire site which they are saved on their default browser. Double-click on that password to disclose it.
• Tap the “Search” button to change the “Search Preferences” option.
• Press the “Security” page to turn on or off the “Security Settings.”
• Go through the “Privacy Settings” located in the “Privacy” page.
• Organize the Safari extensions by going to the “Extensions” page.
• Change the “Advanced Safari Settings” by going to the “Advanced” page.
