And, its newly launched smart reading app for kids – Rivet – is ideal as well. It is available on both Android and iOS platforms and made specially to boost the reading habits of the young ones.

Area 120, which is a workshop for experimental projects of Google, has developed this app. It comes with more than 2,000 free books as well as an in-app assistant that is destined to help kids if they find it hard to use the app. Reading is one of the most important skills that most of the people need to indulge in, be it kids or elder people. With Rivet, Google is trying to let kids know the value of reading.
This app is destined to help kids with reading through AI and speech recognition, as young kids mostly get used to reading through speaking out loud. It adds more value to the whole process as it provides assistance and feedback as well. Also, kids will learn to pronounce particular words, ideally by using this app. Variety of exciting features and modes are being offered with Rivet. It is available on both Android and iOS platform, but the real-time feedback option is there on the Android version only for now.
All types of topics are covered in this app to help kids with reading and pronouncing certain words. When it comes to translation, it is capable of translating into around 25 languages. For making things exciting for the kids, there is a reward system including badges and points, along with engaging animations, theming, and small games. Rivet is currently available in eleven countries, and Google is planning to make it more functional in the coming times.
The follow-along mode in the app is destined to read the content for kids and will let them stay updated with highlighted sounds and words. If the follow-along mode is disabled, they will have to read the stories by themselves. There are already plenty of great reading apps in the market, but this one will stand out from the rest as it is made, especially for kids.
