How to Use Microsoft OneDrive on iOS Device
OneDrive is a synchronization and file hosting service offered by Microsoft Corporation. It enables the users to keep, transfer and sync any file and their data in iCloud.
It stores various necessary folders and data like BitLocker recovery keys and other important things like Windows files. Here is how to manage Microsoft OneDrive’s features and various services to keep files in iCloud on your iOS devices.
Logging to OneDrive
- First of all, launch the OneDrive application. It resembles the white cloud icon having a dark blue color background.
- Then you have to provide your specific Microsoft mail ID in the specified box that reads “Email or Phone”.
- You may also provide your contact number if you have synced it to the Microsoft Account.
- Make sure to end your mail address with “.com” as the emails associated with Microsoft accounts usually finishes in “.com”.
- Next, you have to hit the “Go” tab located at the lowermost right edge of your keyboard.
- Then you are directed to enter your secured passcode in a particular field.
- Then you have to tap the “Sign in” button. It is situated just beneath the password bar.
- If you intend to maintain a “free” account, then you have to hit the circled icon just after the “Free” option and then hit twice on the “STAY BASIC” option. It is usually located at the extreme left portion of your window.
- When the prompt appears, you have to hit the “OK” or the “No Thanks” tab. It will determine the OneDrive alert settings.
Viewing and Selecting the Files
- Firstly go to the “Files” page by hitting the “Files” icon located at the lowermost left side edge of your device’s screen.
- Now, you have to scroll down the page if you wish to view scanned files and other documents, unsorted images, folders, etc.
- Now hit the document to see its content. After tapping the document, it will open on its own.
- Next, you have to touch the desired folder to open.
- Now you can select, choose or expand any of the documents or Files by various available options on your screen. The options are :
“Share” tab, “Trash”, “Folder” icon, “Parachute” tab, and so on.
- Finally, go back to the “Files” page and then upload the first one.
Uploading the File
- First of all, hit the “+” sign button. It is usually situated at the upper-right edge of your screen.
- In case you are not viewing this icon, then be sure that you are on the “File” screen. Alternatively, hit the “File” tab located at the bottom left edge of your screen.
- Now you will be provided various options like Taking a photo or Video, Choose Existing, Microsoft office options, scan and so on. You may select any of these options to upload the video as you wish.
- After that, a prompt window will appear and provide you with two options to select from them. You may either select a photo or a document. Then upload it. After this command, you will be able to access your document from OneDrive with a fast internet connection.
Creating a Fresh Folder
- First of all, hit the “Files” option located at the bottom left edge of your device’s screen.
- Now you have to hit the “+” signed icon situated at the upper-right edge of your screen. You may also create a new folder inside another folder by expanding the folder and go through the appropriate steps.
- Next, tap on the “Create a Folder” option. It will expand through the pull-drop menu.
- After that, type the folder’s name by tapping the text box available on your screen.
- Now hit the “Create” tab. It is present at the upper-right edge of your screen. After tapping the button, it will create a folder for you on the main page of OneDrive with the name that you have entered.
